In the summer of 2005 H.H. the Dalai Lama came for an extended visit to the Zurich area of Switzerland. At the end he also came for the first time to inspect the Tibetan herbal remedies manufacturer PADMA Inc., one of the very few Western companies to produce Tibetan remedies according to modern scientific manufacturing standards.
The PADMA company focuses heavily on research and development and a better understanding of how Tibetan Medicine or herbal components work.
This was one of the rare occasions where the Dalai Lama visited a "clean room", full of machinery.
